Tajima Ultimate 2009 is scheduled to be on July 11-12th in the beautiful countryside of northern Hyogo Prefecture. It is a long way from Tokyo, but every year it is one of the most popular tournaments that we play in. It features the best party of any tournament in Japan. It is legendary.

This year we would like to take one or two teams (or three if there are enough players) and the sign-up deadline is May 8th. For now, Doug and Senco have created a survey to see how much interest there is, so... please fill out the survey by next Wednesday at this link:

但馬の時期がやってきた！

「兵庫県北部の最大・最高・唯一なUltimate大会は７月１１日１２日に開催される。東京から遠く離れた田舎の大会だけど、但馬は毎年大人気。なぜなら、日本Ultimateの最大パーティーも同時に開くんだよ。

A few extra details in case you're on the fence -- it is possible to attend even if you can't taking any days off of work, provided you can leave for Tokyo around 7pm or so on Friday. There's really three ways to get there:

1) Drive - Long drive from Tokyo (~8 hours) but this is by far the cheapest way with a full car. Last year a car left Tokyo around 8pm and got to Tajima around 3am. Another car left at 3pm and got in at 11pm.

2) Train - Most people take the Shinkansen to Kyoto and then drive from there (2 hours). This cuts a lot of time off, but adds a bit of money. You can also train almost all the way to Tajima.

3) Fly - You can fly on Skymark to Kobe and then drive from there. This year Skymark appears to have a late flight (2015 departure from Haneda) that could be very useful for those who have to work on Friday.
