While onsen-ing in Atami, I was nominated to organize a hat tournament.

This post is just a heads-up for everyone who would like to be involved in organizing or participating.

Date and location will be decided by next Sunday. So if you have a great idea for a field we can use or a preference for a day.. now is the time to post!

Great idea!

I hear that last year the hat tournament was a big success, and running it the nikotama way, for the second year in a row, will really help spread our brand of fun-first ultimate to some of the other local teams.

The best solution is if Nikotama's fields are better off. Hopefully the rain today did them some good. But realistically, we're going to have to look around the Tokyo area.

I'll look into the Saitama place that Yukster and Brady introduced us to in May for Gasshuku.

I would second using the fields in Saitama we went to with Brady and Yukster as there seems to be a lot of accommodation available there too which could help encourage teams to come from far away.

I'd be willing to help out too, maybe at the least shopping for prizes.

i'll be heading recruitment, mainly the various japanese teams that we are connected with. everyone put the word out with your friends, and those who have come out to F-T before but aren't regulars. let's make it BIGGU!

The IKU Hat is coming

Not all details set, I'll start a new post when they are.

But....

We have a date: Sunday Nov 4th!

Likely capped this year at 40 people, pre-registration is now open.

Location will not be at Futako-Tamagawa. TBA - but with-in an hour or so of Tokyo.

Entry fee also TBA (but expect 1000-1500yen).

rob and co. are working hard to find fields for sunday nov. 4th, but just in case anyone was wondering, the IKU hat is going to be HUGE. in a literal sense, but also in a more figurative sense, like just, ohmygod, this is so friggin awesome, it's just... H-U-G-E. you get the idea.

i'd really love to have a hat tourney so much that i cancelled a travel! actually the first hat tourney was my first time to come up to F/T! 15 months have passed...
my bf will possibly show up. he must be quiet because he's a little shy, but i'm sure he really wants to be your friend, as he always says.

i let Toku-san know about this fun event as well, and he said he mailed 15 ppl of his team.

rob, are you sure we'll have this hat at the Mizumoto Park? Koki says he might be coming if the field is more comfortable. when will we go and cut grass to invite him???
