Hi, Japanese guy in 30's living in Tokyo. I usually go to Tanzawa, Okutama or Hakone for one day hiking or other areas for overnight. Looking for friends who can come with me. Any nationality welcome.

Hi, I might be up for a few hikes. I have a fair amount of experience both in Japan and overseas and I am not too far from Tokyo. Send me an email. richard.j.guy@gmail.com

Hiya, I am interested on weekend hiking (one day hiking) around Tokyo area but i never hike in Tokyo before...if someone is arranging the group trip, i would like to join too..
A friend of mine by the name of Brad Bennett (aka Racer X) run's some great group hikes into the Okutama mountains just out of Tokyo . He is a great guy and his hikes are alot of fun .
Brads hikes are pretty good. I have joined him before and highly recommend him. Anyone interested in getting together for a few hikes, let me know. I am thinking about doing something the weekend after next, March 15th.

For hikes around tokyo tokyogaijins.com organize some good hikes. Also the book 25 days hikes around tokyo is old but has very good instructions on some nice day hikes.
I am interested in doing an overnight 2 day hike the first weekend of June the 6th and 7th. Some where within 2 hours of Tokyo..anyone interested? either camping or staying at a cabin/hostel/hotel overnight.
Can anybody recommend places to do some serious walking on a daytrip from Tokyo? Preferably somewhere a bit inaka. I' ve done different routes around Kamakura, Hakone, Takao-san and Nikko and would appreciate some more suggestions.
