Anyone know of a nice place to stay close to the river in the Minakami Valley (for next weekend)? Dont mind paying up for it, going with kids, nice onsen either attached or nearby would be great!

I would check out Outdoor Japan's Places to Stay Section (http://outdoorjapan.com/section-accommodation.html) under the Gunma section.

Also Canyons, a rafting company on the Minakami, is rumored to be offering accomodations beginning in November. Their info is under the Outdoor Operator links>Gunma section.
