Can anyone tell me about the mountain huts on Mt. Fuji? Does anyone have any suggestions for best trails and approaches to the mountain?

Thank you.

not sure about the best route, but I am living in Kawaguchiko at the moment. Last week I did the first five stations (fuji-sengen to station five). Used to be a very popular climb to go from the shrine all the way to the top, normally would take about 10 hours total. I split he climb and am going from half way up to the top next weekend. If you have the time to spend around this area I do recommend doing the whole thing, the first half is not too hard of a hike took about 6 hours leisurely walking. The first four stations are not in any state of great beauty, but it is very interesting none the less.

Has anyone heard about the weather conditions at the top of Mt. Fuji today. I have a planned hike to the 8th station.

I was hoping to start at the lower stations, but, am short on time. I look forward to the lower stations during the next hike.

Won't be able to make Mt. Fuji this trip after all, leaving Japan in the beginning of August - one month is not nearly enough time for a trip to Japan. Will be back though. THEN I will climb Mt. Fuji.
