Jeremy and I have been working for some time now on producing our very own Iku!/Tokyo Ultimate discs. After going through a bunch of designs, we've settled on the design shown here and are now in the process of ordering them for delivery in late May or early June. Pricing will be set once we get the order in, as it depends slightly on how many we order, but it'll likely be in the 1200-1500 JPY range.

Based upon some preliminary feedback, we want to make sure that we're ordering enough discs. So, if you're interested in buying one (or 5, or 10?) Iku! discs when they arrive (in colors of Black/Teal and/or Black/Metallic Blue, all on white discs) then please visit http://dilatory.org/iku and register your interest ASAP, as we will be finalizing quantities on Wednesday or so.

The discs have arrived in Japan (and I now have lots of 175g plastic in my aparto)!

Check out http://iku-ultimate.org/stuff/disc to see pictures of the actual product, if you didn't get a chance to see them at Hiroo or Kuji this week. You can also use this link to reserve a disc (or two, or 10) of your own.

The price of the disc has also been set, at 1,300 JPY. For those who ordered before the discs arrived, the price is 1,200 JPY (this is a thank-you as we adjusted the quantity based upon the final preorder numbers).

We'll have discs out at pickup starting next week, but if you've ordered look for a mail in the next few days with more details.

Never seen the upper Tama River or Mitake?

Hey y'all --

So as of today, we are basically sold out of the initial order of Iku discs. The metallic blue splats are basically gone, and I have a few teals left if anyone is interested (1300 JPY each).

I'm thinking of making a replenishment order in the next week, so I can bring them back from Seattle in October. However, I'm interested in knowing first if there's a decent number of folks who still want discs -- so please post here if you need/want one or many.

Also -- given the demand of the blue splat discs, I will definitely order more of those. However, the teals are "gentaiban" -- limited edition. For the next set, I'd like to order a new color for the "splat". Choices are here. What do y'all think (and, would you buy a disc in a new color)? I'm thinking good options could be metallic green or red, as the metallic foil works much better with the splat.
