Hey Futuako-sters!

Yuki and I are really pumped to be in Vancouver checking out all the action from the 2008 World Ultimate and Gusts tournament. Today we will see Rob play for Hong Kong, Bruno represent Canada in the GUTS play, and Matt Kass play in Masters with Japan.

Here is a bit of an update:

Day 1 showed some surprises with Japan women schooling the Cdn women 17-9 on the main field with about 500 people watching. Japan women were just too fast...too skilled and too accurate for the Cdn chicks to handle. It also helped that there were about 300 of them and everytime they scored they all ran onto the field and jumped around like lottery winners.

Rob played two games with the Hong Kong Mixed team and lost to Australia and Germany yesterday. Rob provided some steady hands on the field and didn't turn over the disc once in the game we watched. In the post game circle he wisely placed himself between two of Germany's finest female specimens and shared in the love and good vibes that we all know him capable of.

Japan Masters lost a tough match against the Aussie Masters that went to 16-10 at the end of 2 hours. I didn't catch this one, but hope to see them play today.

And the big surprise of the tournament is Columbia! The Columbia jr women beat the States 15-11 and Canada 10-8 yesterday!! The Columbia men's open played a hard fought game against the UK open team and came within 3 points of winning. UK Open is a strong squad...probably the best in Europe, so for Columbia to take that many points on them is really impressive.

Finally, there is a group of people from the UK covering worlds on video podcast that is putting out some great stuff. We met them last night and had a few drinks and checked out their shows. You can see it all at www.blockstack.tv.

Hey Brady!

Nice wrap up. It's crazy to hear that there are people we know competing in these tournies. My how the Tokyo ultimate scene has grown and branched out.

Can't say I found much in those blockstack podcasts though. I guess I was expecting to see highlight packages.

yeah, the japanese women did the same thing to fury at dream cup. they seem like the clear favorites.
