One of a chain of islands stretching south of Tokyo, it is famous for dolphin swimming and hiking in untouched forests.
I have passed it a few times on the way to Hachijoujima and it reminds me of the island in the movie Jurassic Park.

Visitors must have accommodation before arriving - very strict. We managed to reserve hard to get public bungalows (cheap).

There are a few places left (might not be in a day or two) but people are welcome to join us if they use 1 month club membership. If the bungalows do fill up there are pensions on the island and several dolphin spots available.
Now 19 people paid up and reserved ... 3 more needed to fill bungalows!



Short Description

Leave Friday night ferry arriving Saturday morning and come back Monday on ferry arriving Tokyo around 7pm. People can come back Sunday or arrive Sunday - depends on bungalow organization.

Campsite (no camping?!)

We have ALL 5 bungalows and space for 22 people in them - cheap, 2,000en or less.

We cook/buy our own food - BBQ

Can hike on the island, go fishing etc but main activity is dolphin swim.

Ferry: Leaves Friday night from Takeshiba Pier near Hamamatsucho JR station.
