2006 Mt. Fuji Hike

Event: 2006 Mt. Fuji Hike
Date: Saturday, September 2nd (Rain or shine)
Time: 8AM-4PM (meeting at 7:45AM)
Starting/Meeting Place: To Be Announced
Ending Place: Yoshidaguchi 5th Station, (Hikers will take a bus down to Kawaguchiko Station for 1500 yen)
Supplies needed: Hiking gear, sack lunch, water, rain gear (if needed)
Participation Fee: Free (except the 1500 yen for the bus ticket down to Kawaguchiko)
Participant Limit: 20 people

The hike will be headed by an experienced mountain guide and will feature explanations of historic sites along the trail. I will also be participating and translating the explanations into English. Local Japanese hiking enthusiasts will also join the hike. Since everyone starts climbing Mt. Fuji from the 5th station these days, nobody really knows about the bottom half of the original hiking trail. It is actually a very interesting trail with much historical significance, which we would like to share with everyone.
