Weather permitting, I am planning a hike to the top of Hirugatake - the tallest mountain in Kanagawa - on July 19th. In nice weather, the sunsets behind Mt. Fuji for beautiful landscape pictures. Also, the sunrises from there are stunning.

It will be a grueling 7.5 to 8 hour hike with only short breaks along the way until we reach the top. The lodge at the top is 7,000 yen, which includes a dinner and breakfast.

Pay your own way, bring your own water, I will not be responsible for individuals, but will gladly guide members to the top.

Just to clarify per a post on a separate thread...
I am not a guide nor responsible for safety, readiness, equipment, weather turns, slips, falls, tumbles, water deficiencies, or anything else. I am climbing the mountain, and it's a long haul, and a great sunset and sunrise, so I will stay the night. The Yamagoya at the top requires a reservation or the old man that runs it will growl upon our un-announced arrival.

If you want more information, post a reply and I will explain the stations routes and buses required to get to the starting point on my blog.

Given the weather forecast for this Saturday, departure is either going to be very wet, or we may have to cancel. If you need any more information, please post a comment here or on my blog.
