Gerlach has his paws in everything doesn't he.

Yeah, I'll take one . . . if you throw in the gal in the canyon cutter cutoffs.

Remember you're unique . . . just like everyone else.

I have heard some negative stuff about it performance wise and it creates alot of broken ankles. It does look fun though.

Personally I am more interested in T-boards from tierney rides. http://www.tierneyrides.com/
It looks pretty fun once you get past the learning curve.

Although flowlabs does own my soul now, it in no way affects my opinion on the carve board. But I do have to say, sponsorship aside, I honestly think the flowboard is the best hybrid.

Man I've never seen Tierney's skateboard designs before. Stopping seems to be the only variable...urrr bad images...I so love the way people just keep improvising. I reckon they could make a really wicked alpine style deck using thoughs trucks.

I had a look at that carveboard site again and found some way to serious skateboarders using the site's forum as their base for calling in a boycott of all carveboard's products. They did have some interesting infomation such the ankle breaking factor due to unreliable springs, but it was more hilarious than anything.. its worth a read if you got a spare 5min.

Hey Lou - I've ridden some of the others and demo'd a Tierney a few years ago but never the flowlab stuff.

Been wondering how speed control pans out with that... Can you slide it? Is footstalling as reliable as on a standard longsk8?

I don't see it speed wobbling but how fast have you've had it going?

While we are at it, I have a dirtsurfer coming. This is one of the more interesting departures from the trad. Link Here

They have a new smaller design coming out that should be good for life in Japan. I wonder what the police will (won't say) when they see that. Leave them scratching their heads for certain.

"No officer, it is a bike."

"Flow or Never" as seen recently on a classic no-where-but-Japan T-shirt.

Hola all, I'm a fellow longboarder livin down on Shikoku just chiming in on this discussion..

Carveboards- They're pretty sweet despite the bad press that the springs on the trucks go bunk after a while. The big inflatable tires board is pretty sweet as you an really rip some heavy carves. I guess my bigggest down with them is this sick price tag- and they get crazy unstable at speed.

Tiereny and flowlab- dunno have'nt ridden em but if your looking for a edge-carving, snowboard style, emulator- check out these pretty sweet looking boards at http://www.freebord.com/ Its basically the Tiereny with the ability to stop on a dime! Check out the downhill videos, pretty sick.

Good luck with the dirt surfer, and happy skatin

Peace, KLE

I would really like to take the T-board for a spin but havent ever come across one.

As for the performance of the Flowboard you tell me next week since thats what I will be taking down the mountian. I can say this much though, speed wobbles are definitely the biggest problem with the flowboard. Its a super fun ride but by no means is it your screamer type board. I have taken it up to around 30mph and really payed the price when it threw me. In its defense the concept isnt really about going super fast, its more of a fluid carving and stylistic board. One thing I love about it is the ability to take on any hill no matter how steep since you can always maintain the speed you feel comfortable with thanks to the rail to rail carvability. Also it is nice the way it can roll right over smaller cracks in the road that would drop you on a 4 wheel board.

The dirt surfer looks really extreme. I'm not sure how I feel about a board that huge, are you worried about it being too heavy? I bet it will be a blast to take down some off road trails.
