HI guys, I'm trying to find a paintball field that's accessible from Tokyo, preferably in a day. I know that there's one in Yokosuka but that seems to be for army boys only. I found reviews for a field in Tama but it doesn't seem to be there anymore! Does anyone have any info? Much appreciated!

G'day,

The feild at Tama is still there - it's on the Tama Hills base however, so you will need someone to sponser you to get on base though. There are a few millitary guys who play who might be willing. Try posting on pacificpaintball.com, some of them usually hang out there and might sponsor you.

Have fun.

Check the alpex website for paintball in Japan. I have been meaning to check on the field in Tama, but haven't had the time. Alpex is way south near Kobe-Osaka. I think that's more than a day away. I've just arrived here myself, so if you have any more info or want to start something up, give me a heads up.

Wow, the Alpex website looks a lot more user friendly than last time I saw it. I haven't tried Alpex, just cause it's so far away. The prices seem a bit higher than Tama too (and a day at Tama is normally stretching my budget).

Tama is normally just elimination, although if you ask nicely and everyone there agrees they do let you mix up the rules a bit. There is a basic speedball field with the normal drums and inflatables (not much grass, so very slippery after rain), a semi-cleared field in the woods with a fair number of bunkers and another area in the woods,a rather overgrown hillside that is about the right size for a field but no-one actually did anything with it (which is my personal favourite there is lots of cover, so the games tend to last quite a bit longer, but not everyone likes it; to each their own, I guess).

Mike, if you’re up at Yokosuka, I assume you're Navy? There is (last time I checked) an indoor field on the base but I've heard it's pretty crap. I've met a few sailors who come down to Tama to play though, and they tend to be pretty nice. I'm not sure here, but I think MWR Outdoor Rec occasionally does trips to Tama for paintball - you might want to see if that's still going.

Anyone got more info on Alpex? Sorry, I really don’t know anything about it.

Hey, I know it`s not paintball but I`ve seen lots of local crew into the airsoft indoor stlye, of wargames. Might have better luck with that and I`m pretty sure the pricing would be alot cheaper.

I am visiting Tokyo with a band from New York City and need to find a shop in Tokyo that sells the 12 gram CO2 cartridges that are used in paintball guns. I use confetti cannons and cannot bring them on my flight there.

Please e-mail me off list at LOSTINNNY@aol.com (three Ns in there)

Thanks,
Robert Bose
